....and people are seriously wondering why there are rumblings of vigilante activities being contemplated by residents whom are sick and tired of having their lives affected by scum who think it's their divine right to do it!
Not that I'm advocating people taking the Law into their own hands, but I really, honestly, can see a time when, if nothing is done by the authorities/police/courts to curb this, then something's going to give.

The area near Carlos catch seems to be a proper hotspot for these scrotes. They used to hang around and hassle people to buy them booze from the off license. If they're not there, they walk through the nearby new barrats estate and cause hassle there... most of the young trees were ripped up, litter everywhere. All the walls on the houses at the front on nottingham road were smashed by them a couple of years back. Mind, it's been a lot better of late now that that off license has closed down. It was nothing but trouble that place. It'll get worse again soon I'm sure. I've had plenty goes at them myself but to be honest I can only do that when I'm not near my own house or I'll get a brick through the window like some friends of mine got The whole lot of em need a d**n good kicking

Its alright saying contact the police for incidents, Not so long ago while driving with my 5 year old daughter to ASDA past the notts road shops/carlos catch, a lad probably around 17 years old, broke away from the gang and exposed himself (frontal) to my car as we waited at the traffic lights! my daughter was in the front seat in her car seat!!!! This was 11.30am Saturday!! so disgusted was i, i drove straight back home and called the non emergency police number to report. I was told a policeman would attend ASAP. I drove past the area several times that day, the same gang of youthes hanging around, the same lad still there. He remained there all day untill around 4:30pm when i saw him and a few others leave (they walked past my house) A policeman eventually turned up at around 6:00pm!! I was fuming. To me this was a serious incident!!! but obviously the police didn't think so!! what kind of person would expose themself in this way!! i dread to think what this young man will turn in to. you deserve an apology for this aparent lapse please accept my apologise for this oversite the officer must have had some paper work to do sorry to you and your daughter.

Me and my little girl have to step over it every other day on the way to school IT IS DISGUSTING!!!! I am sick of ringing streetcare about this problem.. JUST PICK IT UP OR GET RID OF YOUR DOG!!!! If i ever found out who you are i would deliver it back to you.

Dear All , Just remember the section 30 is only valid for 6 months ,and I agree the section 30 appears to have made things worse . Check out The park of Chapel Lane on a dry sunny evening . I have always enjoyed walking my Dog round the village and ending up on the park ,but now i have changed my route because I feel so intimidated with the big groups of children that congregate around that area . Come on Derbyshire police enforce the section 30 is not that what it`s for ??

am new to this site!!... we emigrated to australia almost two years ago and i was just feeling a bit homesick ( we lived on heronswood drive) so i thought i'd have alittle look at the old village!! then got reading this topic and suddenly dont feel so bad! those kids were on our list of cons for leaving the uk, we didnt want our kids growing up like those yobs. they were incredibly intimidating, a good friend of mine lives on reader street and the quickest way to her house on foot was across brunswick ( or brunswood cant remember now!) park but it was always full of horrible teenagers yelling abuse... then they burnt it down!! i remember letting my then 3 year old daughter slide down the slide to discover someone had poured beer and probably worse down it ...yuk!! i don't know what has happened to society but kids are kids the world over... the area we live in here is struggling with a trend for graffiti..its everywhere, the aussies blame us tho' they say it was never so bad till the area became so popular with British ex-pats!!! am starting to agree with my grandad...(bill catlow) bring back national service!!!! sadly i cant see things changing, its true kids have everything but nothing is good enough, and they know that what ever they do no-one can touch them, the local bobby cannot drag them home by their ear anymore and if he did he'd probably get beaten up by teh kids dad!!

We seem to be having particular problems with a bunch of nasty brats who live on Station Road. Aged between 10 and 16 maybe and the whole lot should be in borstal or boot camp. Honestly these kids are vile.
Their latest game seems to be riding out infront of cars on Notts road, at upwards of 11.30pm. Saw them doing it again today and a guy got out of his car at the lights near the snooker hall and grabbed one of them which was hillarious. My girlfriend almost hit one on Friday. Luckily she missed and the car's paintwork is fine!
Other fun we have to put up with is them trying all the car doors on our estate, chucking junk all over the place, trying to mug the next door neighbours kid, property damage, riding over everyone's gardens, abuse.. one of them was arrested last year for carrying a knife. Charming.
Their families are shocking. They get to live for free and repay us by allowing their nightmare children to run riot. One thing is clear, they are not fit to be housed in what is fundamentally a decent area.

I only recently moved to borrowfield rd in spondon and have noticed over the past few days more and more gangs of youths/even younger children hanging around outside my house..screaming and shouting. I was lying on the sofa this afternoon to hear a loud bang outside my house and low and behold some kid was kicking a football at peoples houses as he was walking along. I find their behaviour very threating. People shouldnt have to put up with this. If you say anything to them or look at them all you get is abuse. You just cant win. You can see why people take the law into their own hands. My partner was ready to go out and give them what for. But you cant go doing that. You do feel the law is on their side and they can get away with doing anything. It makes you wonder were these children brought up or dragged up? More needs to be done. I will be reporting anymore incidents even if they are minor because i am starting to get really fed up with the situation!

Has anyone noticed a reduction lately in the number of kids hanging aroung the shops?
Well that's because they all sit by the park at the top of Oxford Street and at night (after midnight) in the summer, a huge pack of them will walk down the street causing trouble. They are all holding beer, smoking and acting like thugs showing off! Lets make it clear that it's not just lads, there are just as many girls!
As a woman living in Spondon and having always lived in Spondon, I know for a fact that a very large amount of those kids come from Chad......They make Spondon look bad when it's a wonderful place to live!
