Well I see it caught fire again as reported in the Derby Evening Telegraph also on BBC and ITV local news was well reported in. I can recall when it blew up back in the sixties I was playing football at school then Spondon House old one we all stopped and looked and wonderd what it was apart from the very loud explosion I am sure the earth moved well perhaps it was the shock wave that followed a few seconds later and finding out that people had lost their lives in it nobody was seriouse hurt this time only a larg fire in the Benzine tanks witch took 60 firefighters five houres to bring under control I was glad that unlike the old days they let the civy firemen in to help with their own stright away they did not keep them at the gates as last time. It was reported that they "Acordis" did not inform folk round about as to the danger it possed but I can say that previovsely when it was "Courtalds" we had an information sheets and a video issued by them although they have a lot more houses built near it now it's no wonder the folk nearby where worried but no harm was caused just a lot off shattered nerves this time.
