The Spondon incinerator goes to planning tomorrow night (Thursday 18th March). There will be a vigil starting at 5pm on the Council House steps and then the meeting will start at 6pm. Please attend if you can to show the councillors making the decision about your health that you care. The meeting can be viewed from the public gallery.
Hope to see you there....

This morning I was glad to hear that the city councilors had voted to reject the planing application for the Cyclamax plant at Spondon. The effects of this plant in the long term are unknown. and could be a danger to peoples health; not to mention the effects it would have on property prices in Spondon & Alverston. I believe that city councilors should be seen to be acting in the interests of their citizens, because in about ten years time they will announce their intention to take over the Villages of Ockbrook & Borrowash into the city. So it would not be in their interests to be seen as the Big Bad Wolf, but also I suspect that Cyclamax will appeal.
