The Derby Telegraph today reports mixed reaction so far to plans to erect two wind turbines at the Severn Trent plant in Spondon. The proposed turbines could be up to 130 metres () high - twice the height of Derby Cathedral - and could generate enough power for up to 3,700 homes. Read the full report at : bit.ly/bYxKK2Comments and reactions have so far been mixed. How do YOU feel about the proposed wind turbines? Think it would be great to be honest, I like em, think they're interesting things to look at. Plus if the land's going spare, it's a good way to generate some clean energy! I think it would be a good thing for Spondon!

I am completely in favour of the wind turbine. I do think they are lovely structual pieces. If it can generate energy, its got to be a good thing. It would certainly put spondon on the map!!! I think there should be more out there and struggling farmers should be getting them on their land as another way to create income.

I too have no problem with these, they'll look much better than the new piece of garbage they call a ring road near the municipal tip

Wind turbines have got to be better than a dirty great toxic waste incinerator! Cyclamax are appealing the decision to refuse the incinerator in Spondon so we have kicked off a new campaign - STOP the Spondon Incinerator. Visit our website at www.stopthespondonincinerator.co.uk. It is a work in progress at the moment and any volunteers to help with the campaign are most welcome. Please contact us through the website.
