This is an email received by us today after the Smartwater Demonstration given at the Village Club by a local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator who attended the meeting. The email has been edited to respect the privacy of the coordinator. I attended the NHW meeting [arranged by the Safer Spondon Group - e-mail address 'saferspondon@virginmedia.com' today at the Conservative Club. A representative [ex- policeman] attended from Smartwater . He gave a professional presentation using a laptop and screen to show how good the product is. Afterwards there was a question and answer session. All questions raised were answered professionally. The website www Smartwater.com shows that a bottle of 'Smartwater' will cost £59.88 and has to be re-registered every year but obtaining it via .Safer Spondon will cost £20.00 and only has to be registered once. The points to note are: 1. The content received [although relatively small] was stated to enable all valuables in a 4 bed-roomed property to be protected by 'Smartwater'. 2. The product provided is unique to the property and is registered by the purchaser against the property concerned. This enables the police to identify the owner if a theft arises. 3. It has a recommended [guaranteed] life within the bottle of 2 years [exceeding 2 years will lose the product 'fluorescence']. 4. The product life after marking an item is a minimum of 25 years. 5. On purchasing 'Smartwater' the purchaser is provided with 2 labels to display on the windows of the property. 6. If sufficient residents purchase the product signs can displayed on lampposts to make people aware that the area is protected by 'Smartwater' 7. 'A minimum of 1.5 million properties are currently protected using 'Smartwater'. 8. The product is used commercially by Network Rail and other national companies. Examples given where its use in identifying the origin of scrap materials at scrap merchants, stolen gold rings, stolen electronic equipment, etc. At £20 I recommend it to you. I have already paid my purchase fee and will be contacted shortly after the delivery is received by the organisers. The NHW/Safer Spondon meeting organisers are wanting to expand the use of the product in Spondon and if numbers are significant they will arrange large signs on the lampposts on entry to Spondon to make people aware that it is being used within the village - as a deterrent as they enter Spondon. The display showed active police officers around the country [stating to the camera] that reduction in burglaries was from 65% to 100% dependent on the area concerned. It does appear to very effective and is good value for money. As stated above I recommend it to you all for use on your property. Steve, Susan, Angie and Alan from Safer Spondon can be contacted on the e-mail address saferspondon@virginmedia.com or by phoning 01332 232113 to place your order for 'Smartwater'. It's £20 well spent!!!!! Just give them your contact details and they will contact you when 'Smartwater' is available. You can pay when you receive your Smartwater kit.
