You may be aware that the Spondon Community Association, Village Improvement Committee and Derby & Sandiacre Canal Society have teamed up to support the possible reopening of the Spondon stretch of the canal.
I must admit that, until the start of this initiative, I was fairly oblivious to the fact that Spondon had a canal area but, having seen the potential that this project has, it appears to be well worth the effort and will add another picturesque part of our fantastic village.
West Park School pupils are currently helping to develop a website for the project which can be viewed at www.spondonlinearpark.org.uk
