After many years of tracing my family tree I have finally tracked down my mother's uncle Charles Edward James Blandford. He drowned in the Derwent in 1962. He lodged at 66 Cambridge Street, Spondon with Mr George Henry Astill. According to the newspaper cuttings he had no family. We desparately need to find out further information on Charles and ask if anyone knows the Astill family or have any recollections of Charles that they contact us. Thank you

I used to go to Asterdale Primery and junior school wih an Kevin Astle think his first name is right but not sure he had somthing wrong with his head or neck as his entire head was encased in a plaster cast whitch made him look like a spaceman. His parants lived on Kirk Lees Ave number 1 near to Crhis and Les Ford thier dad drove a lorry. malc.
